Vienna, September 2025 – In just under two years since reigniting its European presence, THOMSON has transformed from a niche relaunch into one of the fastest-growing consumer electronics brands in the region. In H2 2025, the company reported that revenues and sales volume have doubled compared to H1 2024, marking a 180% year-over-year revenue increase.
From humble beginnings with just eight products in France, THOMSON’s historical home, the portfolio has since expanded to more than 170 products — spanning smart TVs, streaming devices, soundbars, monitors, projectors, and professional display panels. Today, THOMSON is active in over 45 markets across three continents, with more than 1.7 million devices sold and a doubled European market share.
STRATEGIC EXPANSION ACROSS EUROPE, MENA, AND BEYOND: FOCUS ON RETAIL
France served as the launchpad for THOMSON’s comeback, quickly followed by expansion into Germany, Austria, Spain, Italy, and the Nordics. The success then spread eastward into Poland, Hungary, and the Czech Republic, and today the brand continues its international push into CIS countries (Georgia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan), UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Lebanon, and North Africa (Morocco, Tunisia).
Key strategic markets remain France, Benelux, Spain, Italy, the Nordics, Germany, and newly joined Poland. To accelerate its momentum in Germany, THOMSON has appointed Sebastian Wildenberg as Sales Director Germany. His agenda puts brick-and-mortar retailers at the core: “Specialist retailers need attractive margins, long-term payment terms, and exclusive product ranges with strong product USPs. That’s exactly what our new concept is based on.”
Initial orders are used to build trust, with the long-term aim of permanently integrating THOMSON into retail assortments and offering double-digit margins.
THE THOMSON ONLINE STORE
While retail partnerships remain at the heart of THOMSON’s strategy, the company has also launched its official THOMSON Online Store. The platform offers direct access to the full product range, exclusive launches, and convenient customer support. The Online Store complements THOMSON’s expanding retail presence by giving consumers an additional, direct way to shop — reinforcing the brand’s commitment to accessibility, service, and building strong connections with its audience.
BEING SUSTAINABLE BY DESIGN AND CHOICE
At THOMSON, sustainability is not a slogan — it’s a standard. The company aligns its practices with evolving European benchmarks and embeds sustainability into every stage of the product lifecycle.
- High repairability, low consumption: All THOMSON TVs rank among the highest grades on France’s Durability Index, an internationally recognized measure of repairability and product lifespan. Energy efficiency remains a priority, with models designed to meet or exceed European standards.
- Thoughtful product choices: Streaming devices extend the life of older TVs, while projectors deliver the largest images with the least material use.
- Local, sustainable production: Multiple assembly centers across Europe — one just 200 km from THOMSON’s Vienna HQ — reduce transport distances. Factories run largely on green energy, including solar-powered facilities.
- Packaging improvements: Streaming devices are already shipped in 100% plastic-free packaging, and natural inks are used across TV boxes. These initiatives are being expanded across the full portfolio.
- European CSR standards: Every THOMSON TV is assembled in Europe, ensuring strict adherence to environmental protections throughout manufacturing.
- Built to last: All THOMSON products come with a three-year warranty,
reinforcing the brand’s promise of longevity and quality.
