The Gaia-X 5th Summit, themed “Empowering Global Data Spaces, Shaping Tomorrow’s Cloud Infrastructure,” will be held on November 14 and 15, 2024, in Helsinki, Finland. The event, hosted at Finnkino Tennispalatsi, is organized in collaboration with Gaia-X Hub Finland, the Nordic Institute for Interoperability Solutions (NIIS), the Finnish Ministry of Transport and Communications, the Finnish Transport and Communications Agency Traficom, Dawex, and the Data Space Support Center (DSSC).

A key focus of the summit will be the launch of “Loire,” the latest release of Gaia-X Digital Clearing House (GXDCH) components. Loire introduces tools for automated compliance checks based on the Gaia-X Compliance Document 24.06. The summit will delve into Gaia-X’s two-layered interoperability approach: legal and organizational interoperability governed by the Gaia-X Compliance Document, and semantic and technical interoperability governed by the Gaia-X Architecture Document.

Sessions will explore the Gaia-X Trust Framework, with Pierre Gronlier, Chief Innovation Officer of Gaia-X, discussing the integration of trust and interoperability into digital platforms. Real-world use cases will be showcased in the ‘Gaia-X Voices: Use Case Testimonials’ session, moderated by Alberto Palomo, CSO of Gaia-X.

The summit will also address the globalization of the digital ecosystem, highlighting the successful deployment of a GXDCH testbed in Japan. This marks the first Digital Clearing House implementation outside of Europe, underscoring Gaia-X’s commitment to international collaboration.

Attendees will have access to three dedicated theaters: the Economic Theater, Tech Theater, and Partners Theater, each offering specialized sessions. The summit will also feature discussions on the role of the Data Space Orchestrator, the economic model of data-sharing ecosystems, and the collaborative efforts of DSBA, DSSC, and Simpl in creating a unified framework for Data Spaces.

Opportunities for direct engagement with the Gaia-X Tech Team, including workshops and Q&A sessions, will be available. The Gaia-X B2B Marketplace will also be presented as a solution to bridge the gap between market demands and available technology.
